If your blog is about Dogs, then don’t use something unrelated like your name in the title unless you also have the word Dog in there also. Using the keywords in the Title, then you’ll rank higher than if you name it Johns Blog.

Your next move is to put your keywords in your Post’s title. If you’re trying to get blog readers to come to your post about ebay to to make a living online, then your post title should have those keywords in it. Forget about using non relevant titles like How I Make Money With Auctions. Doing this prevents the search engine bots from figuring out what your post is about and you won’t attract the right kind of traffic. Welcome to my first article. OK I may not be the best writer in the world but I hope you will find a few of these thoughts interesting. Here is yet another newbie trying to get some traffic to his web site. I bet you have seen a lot of these if you are a regular here. This article is about my early experiences with blogs and web sites.

The reason for the title? Well I have a blog and I have been writing the odd item now for about 18 months. I have a counter on the blog and it has reached over 3,000 ‘hits’ but I am beginning to wonder if there are any ‘real’ people out there. With all the visits I think I have had 1 comment made (and that was an advert for another blog!) and I recently asked visitors to click on a link to one of my web sites about SEO as I was getting no visitors there. I had stated that they did not have to sign up to anything or even buy. I just wanted them to visit the site. I was basically experimenting to see if anybody would at least click on the link.

Well, guess what happened? Nothing!! No comments, no clicks on the link, nothing. So I put in a couple of further requests and still nothing. So it looks like there really is nobody visiting my blog. Do they have bots that trawl the blogs? They must do because the blog does appear in Google if I search for my web site. However I don’t think they affect the counter. Does anybody know? The counter gives me a map of where the visitors are from and they seem to be from the US, UK, Europe, Australia and the Middle East.

How tough is it to get a response from users? Is there a magic wand to drive traffic to your site? Would you believe some of these internet 'gurus' there is (that is if you are prepared to pay them $47 or some other figure that ends in 7).

OK, well this is my attempt to publicize my web sites, give some solace to other users who are in the same boat and maybe, just maybe help some others. Visit the blog and see my mutterings. Maybe even make a friend or two (says Mr. Nomates).

Earning blogging money is a lot easier than you might think. Having a solid business plan is very important if you are to have any hope of making a good living from your blogs.

It’s not enough to just put a blog up and hope that the money will start to roll in!

But where to start?  Where to do go to find a solid action plan to start making money from your blogs.

Finding a mentor is a very good place to start.  Finding someone who make their money blogging will give you a really good role model to get into niche blogging.

The program is a fantastic resource which thoroughly explains what you need to do to get your blogs set-up and making money.  It makes sure you learn how to build your business, avoiding the pitfalls and making sure you use the many free and fantastic programs available to help grow your business.

But joining The Niche Blogger is not a quick fix.  You will need to dedicate yourself to the program and it does take lots of work on your part.

One of the problems with trying to earn money blogging is that there are many different methods out there. Do yourself a favour and don’t fall prey to this.

Choosing a good program when you start out means to can totally dedicated yourself to it know you will succeed and reach your goals.

You should also realise that even though you can start earning very quickly, you won’t become rich overnight.

Blogging money will most likely start trickling in and then build upon itself over time. Before you know it, you can be earning a great part or full-time income from your blogs!

I don’t know if you realise , but once of the most fantastic things about blogging is that once you have set your blog up, apart from a little checking now and again, it is generally passive income.

Adding posts and updating your blog from time to time is all you will need to do once it is set-up.  This means the blog becomes your very own 24 hours a day, 7 days a week “salesperson”.

If your dream is to quit your day job then blogging can make it happen.  Many people do make their full-time living from niche blogging.

All that is needed to achieve this dream is to follow The Niche Blogger program.

Just think you could look back on this moment one year from now and realise that deciding to become a blogger was one of the best decision your ever made.

I was first introduced to Wordpress after taking the Bloggers Paycheck course by John Yeo who showed me that Wordpress is by far the best blog platform that you will use if you are looking to make money blogging or start an internet business.

While it is true there are many other blogging tools, if you really want to establish yourself online and make money. Wordpress is by far the platform of choice.  

Why?

As an open source platform you have access to 100’s of free themes for your site.  You also get literally thousands of free plugins. Plugins for Wordpress are additions to enhance the performance and user experience of your blog. 

Wordpress is a world class application with companies like The New York Times and CNN selecting it as their prefered blogging platform.

Let me tell you a secret, you can also blog from your iphone!For someone that failed to make a profit using PPC as an affilaite with iPhone offers this was the best aspect.It does not matter where I am as I can update my blogs simply from my iPhone.I actually blog whenever and wherever I want. The train, airport, even the beach. I put out the right message and information as soon as I think about it.I am in constant communication with my readers.

So you are now set to start a blog?Don’t get caught like a lot of people that stop blogging only a few posts in. Tie in your hobbies and passion to ensure great content and longevity of your blog. This will keep you blogging and make money.

Let’s briefly look at installing wordpress, the easy way.  First, you need to register a domain name. That’s the easy part. There are plenty of domain registrars to choose from. I personally use Planetdomiain simple to use and straight forward.

I don’t use their hosting for my sites though. I use another excellent provider that allows unlimited, disk, bandwidth and websites. All very important if you end up with a online empire across many sites and niches.Finally to upload Wodpress themes and other things to your site you will need an FTP program, we recommend you use the Free FileZilla application.

With everythihng set-up. Simply log into the cPanel of your hosting provider.  Within cPanel there is a tool called Fantastico, this is a utility that has a lot of scripts that you can install for your webiste such as ecommerce, forums etc.  But the one we want is Wordpress.

There are a number of options here, but Wordpress should be udner ‘blogs’ in the second header.Now you need to click on Wordpress and then ‘new installation. It’s that simple.  Complete all the details, enusre that you remember your admin name and password, you will need to to log into worpress admin area to post to your blog etc.

Your blog is now up and running!I recommend that you do the following.

Now log into the administration area www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin and delete the “Hello World” post and any other posts or comments that are there by default. You simply go to Manage and then posts and delete.

Then go to Manage and Pages and click on ‘About’.Change the ‘About’ information to wherever suites you best.

Go over to wordpress.org and click on the menu item ‘extend’ and then ‘themes’.Select on of the free themes that you would like, download it and extract to a local file.

Open your FTP program, place in your FTP details and upload your new theme to WP-Content->Themes.  Note that the file path is. Public_html ->wp-content -> themes.

There, you are now complete and ready to start blogging and generate traffic.  There is a lot more to using wordpress then simply posting.There are numerous plug-in that you can use to enhance your site. Anything form social bookmarking tools, adsense, back-up, automatic upgrades and many more.

Akismet

This plugin actually comes standard with your Wordpress installation. You will have to get a Wordpress.com API key to make it work, but after you do it’s pure bliss. It virtually eliminates spam commenting! Akismet is an intelligent plugin that will move suspected spam into a separate folder and will learn from you as you go. You need to always activate this plugin to achieve the ideal results with your blog. It is a time saver also!

Linking to different pages in your blog from every page is a great search engine optimization tactic.
