Self discipline more….

Before I show you my portfolio of the best net tools that I promise will assist you to work remotely, I wanted to bring to your attention one more pearl of wisdom concerning self management and specifically to do with maintaining your focus and powers of concentration

I’ve identified and verified a common behavior in men and women who work on the Internet and I’ve known for a substantial period and I call this trait the fifty min effect. I identified these men and women who concentrate and work for fifty minutes and then always take a complete 10 minute rest and are considerably more effective and produce a substantially greater quality of work than contacts who don’t have such distinct working practises.

OK as promised I present you with my list of preferred remote working web applications:

Electronic Mail

Google Mail has a price tag of zero. In my experience the search and label (categories) functions are second to none. The downside is it can be a bit slow on older machines

Phone calls

Skype
used to infuriate me as the connection performance was down right horrible, but all credit to the designers at Skype now as they have substantially changed the quality of the service. For just a few bucks a month ! am able to call and conference in any telephone and Skype subscriber in the world. The current edition of Skype has an abundance of very useful functions and there is an ever growing list of valuable add on applications.

Organising Content

Evernote
has acquired more than a million users in a very short space of time – it lets you to store, organise and annotate any type of digital content in the Cloud. Just go check it out…it’s free.

Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM

You definitely know that my urge to work remotely was originally inspired by Quickbooks Online, a small business accounting software system. But it simply doesn’t even come close to the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a fork I looked at NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.

Article Promotion Blog And Article Submission Software

A bum marketing blog that may bring you great amounts of success is straightforward to make if you employ it correctly . An article promotion blog is straightforward to put together but what will make it successful is getting content put on it. Getting content for your blog is not enough, though. You have got to get traffic for it. For an article marketing blog content is king but what gives that king his power is the traffic that comes to read it. Get the people to your article promotion blog and get them coming back, whether you use article submission software or not.

Article writing blogs can get their content from many various sources. You can, of course, write all your content but you may have it written for you as well . That is where hiring a ghost writer can come in handy. There are other sources for content, though.

If you opt to write your own content, first make sure that it uses keywords which will help get it picked up on search engines. As far as finding things to write about, follow top reports stories related to your particular industry or service. Also consider industry news sources and use social bookmarking services to find out what the hot topics are at present and just comment on them. Also consider having a look at the hottest websites pertaining to your blog and find out what is drawing the most attention and check out what is generating the most traffic on search engines associated with your field. Follow trends and comment on what you find. Your article marketing blog will be riding a wave of popularity.

Many will make use of PLR articles and article submission software in their article marketing blogs. You’ll find cheap articles sometimes as a group and can make even that stretch by breaking it up into different parts.

Another choice that folk use is RSS feeds. This is a simple technique to get content to your bum marketing blog because it is automatically updated with content.

One thing that you always have to be doing is making sure that there are some things in the article that’s posted which will make it seen by search engines. This is why it is generally best to have some control over what is being posted rather than counting only on automation. Articles are many times written just for the reader when they should just as much be written for the search engines through article submission software. Ensure that it is keyword-rich so that it’ll help people attempting to find info that you have find it.

Another thing that may help generate traffic and help those attempting to find information find you is to use the different article directories. Find those ones the search engines love and utilize them. Ensure you read all of the rules and that you create the ideal article for their standards. This will help to give you links to your bum marketing blog and will draw in those people who will keep coming back to your blog weekly or maybe daily.

Remote Working Part 2 – Why self discipline is important

Quickbooks online

The number one reason workers fail to adapt to working remotely is they fail to realise the essential requirement of good quality organisation and rigid self management.

I have been operating remotely for almost a decade since I first found Quickbooks online an ‘on demand’ small business accounting software service and was spellbound by the fact that if you can perform accounting on the Internet then why shouldn’t it be feasible to perform other important types of work away from the conventional office?

Whilst working remotely has numerous upsides there are numerous pitfalls which turn into problems that result in reduced productivity and lower motivation. The most cited reason for low effectiveness in remote employees is disruption and it is a confirmed and well known fact that it can take a professional up to twenty minutes to return to their original productivity level after experiencing a disturbance.

Deeper insights reveal that men and women who are consistently subjected to interruptions are more likely to be susceptible to decreased memory ability and are prone to developing mental health problems in later life. We exist in an over communicated environment and it is important that you know the problems this causes before you decide to work remotely. When operating remotely you should do everything feasible to eradicate the threat of being distracted.

Here’s how I do it:

1, Get a consistent schedule, make sure that everybody knows it and rigidly adhere to it!

Good examples are a regular time of day when you read or compose and reply to e-mail and make or be available for telephone calls. Before I began working remotely I used to get well over hundreds of e-mails a day. Now I think I am unfortunate if I get greater than 4. To ’reset’ my e-mail experience I modified my e-mail address and tenaciously took precautions to look after the details being passed on to anyone. I then educated every party who I gave my e-mail address to, to use it with special care. I also set up an auto-responder that swiftly informed anyone sending me mail at what time of day I would be attending to mail and if an item should have my urgent awareness to mark it as ‘Urgent’.

2. Get rid of alerts.

Turn off absolutely everything that can send you a visual or audible alert. This includes portable and
conventional handsets and forms of alerts from electronic mail such as on screen pop ups, beeps, display changes to your inbox folder and of course facing a window. Get a door on your work room and put up a ‘do not disturb’ sign on it.

In ‘Remote Working Part 3 – Basic Toolkit’ I will reveal my favourite tools and software.

How To Rank High With Your Blog

Originally the blog started out as an online diary, allowing the individual to document and list their thoughts and publish them on the internet. Blogs have evolved in a short couple of years into many things, you can use a blog as a website, membership site, sales page, a magazine, an online book an online store or whatever method you want to have an online identity for.

What has helped the blog to evolve into so many areas is the new creation of internet tools such as word press and blog type templates and plug-ins that have come into existence recently. These tools have been developed with new features recently that make it easier for the average person to own his own online business and to profit from it.

Here are some ways in which the blog owner can profit from his online business:

1.      Write Review Posts and articles:

There are hundreds and thousands of companies out there looking for people with websites and blogs to write about their products and services. There are even services that will put companies and bloggers together so that the blogger can get paid for a post or article they make about a particular company.

You basically add your blogs profile with one of these companies in your niche or market and they will contract you to write a post about their product or service in exchange for a fee. The amount you can get paid for your post will depend on your search engine ranking. The more posts and reviews on your blog will have positive results with the search engines and also help in getting your blog to rank higher on the search engines like Google, Yahoo and MSN.

2.      Google Adsense:

Google adsense is a program run by Google where you put some code on your site which allows Google to place content relevant ads on your site. Every time a visitor clicks on one of those adverts you get a few cents. This is the quickest way to create some income from your site, this combined up other techniques could generate a nice income. It’s just a realy fast way to get started.

3.      Sell Advertising Space:

This is one of the simplest and easy ones to do. Now before you can sell advertising space you want your blog to be getting a good amount of traffic. You don’t need thousands of visitors a day, but the more visitors you have, the more you can charge for advertising.

4.      Affiliate Programs:

If you’ve got a loyal readership or if your blog is getting a reasonable amount of visitors then you might want to write a few posts recommending certain services and products and then provide your unique affiliate link to that product’s website. If any visitors click on that link on your post or review and the visitor signs up with that affiliate site you will benefit from the commissions from that sale.

5.      Video Posts and Reviews:

This is a new strategy that is becoming one of the most productive in building a following to your website or blog. You can create a simple video of a product or service you are an affiliate of and post it on your blog or website. This is a great technique to get FREE advertising on the search engines. The search engine bots (robots) will Crawl your site and list your video on the search engines usually faster than regular advertisements and statistics show that videos are crawled more often and Rank higher on the Search Engines then regular ads.

The more traffic your site has, the more money you can make. This actually will be the key to your success. It doesn’t matter if your blog isn’t the best, keep it simple and get some content up on it! Worry about tweaking it and making it cool later! Just create some back-links and get some traffic to your blog!

Stay Connected With A Blog

It was a few years ago that I first decided to create a blog to learn how to how to make money from home using websites. Back then, the main thing I did was to mostly use the blog as a way to keep up with friends. You basically need to have a blog if you want to have any chance of keeping in touch with anyone. People and events move on so fast that it has make letters and phone calls quickly becoming more and more forgotten. Even e-mails are starting to go that way - at least in keeping in touch with your friends.

Creating a blog has many advantages over these other forms of traditional communication. One of the biggest ones is that if you have somethings to announce or discuss, everyone can access it at once. Once the blog is created, you no longer need to repeat the same things again and again.  Everyone can read it themselve at their own time.

People have online identity for various reasons.  At this point in time, the most popular reason for any to go online is social networking. But, there are some focus on very specific reason. This can be due to the reasons that some people like niche topic.  Such blogs could be tie to topic such as current affairs, dancing, music etc, or even about David Beckham.

Even you got nothing to write about, you may still want to have a blog just to be in touch with the people around you.  This can help you to be on par with what is going on in the world. And the best way to do this is to become part of the game, a blogger yourself. You can communicate with other bloggers and exchange information this way.  You can also learn how to make money on blogging with internet marketing affiliate program

The New World of Web Content

Ask any old school copywriter and they will tell you that you need proper training and to cut your teeth at a regional newspaper before you can call yourself a pro. This isn’t really the case anymore however due to the Internet revolution, which gives even the most amateur of writer the chance to speak their mind. There is even money to be made in online copywriting and sometimes relative fame.

It all really started when a few people set up their own blogs and starting adding their musings on there about this, that and the other. Some other web users liked what they were reading and started coming back to these sites regularly for updates. It was soon realised by this new breed of digital copywriters that they could accumulate quite a following and even get a good level of respect from readers and businesses alike.Lots of bigger companies realised that they could use bloggers to generate traffic and good reputation for their sites so actively promoted more content production. This adaption almost by corporate entities, and commercialism in general, has meant that digital copy is now without doubt one of the most important elements of the Internet as we know it.

You can now find information about almost any topic under the sun, like office insurance for example, and many argue that good content is the main factor in boosting the power of websites and generating traffic. Indeed the publications that started off with print distribution now almost all have online sections of their business and do very well from them as more people are moving online to find what they are looking for.

This explosion of web content creation is not all candyfloss and ice creams however. There has been a huge increase in poorly written, incorrectly constructed and often misinformed content on the web. Additionally, there are many hoops that you need to jump through to get content removed from a site and nearly impossible to prove who created it in the first place. This means that people can write whatever they like, about business insurance news for example and not have to worry about ramifications, which is potentially very dangerous.

How to Attract Celebrity News Visitors to Your Blog - Celebrity News Blogging

Blogs in Plain English

Google Trends, as many of you will know, is a simple tool for gauging, hour by hour, what is hotly being searched for on the Internet. It’s an incredibly versatile and innovative tool, and it has proved extremely handy for news agencies, Internet users, and Webmasters alike. It tends to focus on news blogs, which is excellent for the smaller Webmaster who is trying to increase traffic to his blog.

Make flagship blogs

This requires you to focus on several blogs for them to be able to achieve popularity in their niche. A large audience base and high visitor traffic are the must-haves of flagship blogs. To make this work, you must have fair knowledge in niche marketing and networking skills. Maintaining flagship blogs are very time-consuming, but you will be rewarded by more options in monetization as well as fame and personal satisfaction.

I am sure that I am not the only Webmaster to have picked up the surprising obsession with celebrity culture which grips the average Internet user. The traffic flows in Google alone for this niche topic are beyond belief, with many millions perhaps searching for one hot celebrity name every hour, traffic which far outstrips seemingly more weighty and important topics in the news. In short, the mass appeal of celebrity and celebrity news scandals is quite breathtaking and regularly shows itself on a massive scale.

• Celebrity Gossip - The rich and famous are more than ever in spotlight, and hundreds of thousands of people are looking to find out the smallest details about their favourite stars. It may be difficult to find out any new information but it is easy to bring all available information together to ensure that your blog is the central source of information from dedicated fans.

• Dog Training - Initially it may seem that pets and dog training is a niche market for a blog. But an increasing proportion of the population are now owning pets. These new owners are of course looking to find out all they can about the best way to care for and train their pets, informative and interesting articles again will draw people in, and the appropriate use of ads can see a lot of revenue being earned.

You may receive a share of the ad revenue of the blog or a token base fee. This provides a somehow stable monthly income for you and more valuable contacts.

Make a Profit by Blogging

In the several times you have browsed the net you have probably come across a blog or two. Blogs are online journals that people express their feelings on. They correspond to personal opinions of authors about certain topics. Blogs allow people to share ideas and their interests with other people around the world.

Nowadays, blogs have become more popular for a number of reasons. First, they are search engine friendly. Search engines will spider them and index them often, as long as you are making posts regularly. Search engines love blogs because of the fresh content they present and they’re regularly updated. Second, blogging is the fastest way to build your website. Using blogs can be easier for you than making a website. You don’t need to create websites or any programming language. And third, blogging increases marketing reach dramatically.

Even if you are not much of a writer you can always try blogs. When you become consistent with your blogging you will soon realize why it is important for internet marketers. But setting up a blog does not mean that you will have a one hundred percent boost in your income. A blog won’t give you any new ways to make money except with the following ways:

1. Selling advertising space. Selling text links or banners on you blog can help make you money. This strategy might work for you, if your blog has a high page rank.

2. Offer some affiliate ads. You can offer visitors links or banners to your affiliate products or services just like with a website.

3. The easiest way to gain a profit by blogging is by having Adsense or any other ads. When other people click on these ads, you make money.

Keep in mind that your competitors are probably using blogs so you must use one as well. If your competitors are blogging then they are perhaps reaching customers easily and effectively. When you have a blog you can publish information about your business quickly while keeping pace with the growth in the market.

Simply put, blogs are useful social and communication tools. The market is more organized and smarter. People would want to talk to you and want to participate in the development of your products. Blogs can allow this because readers can submit their comments to the author’s post if the author allows it.

It would be a smart decision to start blogging now because blogs will be around for years to come.

Search Engine Optimization -Save Time & Money

Search Engine Optimization Video

Blogging can be a fantastic way to get more traffic charging full speed to your website.

The good news is that setting up a Blog for your website is surprisingly easy but there are a few caveats and things you need to change to ensure your blog is setup correctly to get maximum exposure in the search engines.

Before we start discussing what you should and should not do with Blogs, let’s take one step back and define what a Blog is.

A Blog can be thought of as a simple, public online diary where you can write entries (posts) into the diary.

Being public, the posts can be viewed by anyone who happens to surf by your site, and hopefully you have heaps of people reading each post you make, and contributing to your Blog in the form of adding comments, looking at relevant links you add to your blog, watching audio and video, and hopefully linking to your blog from their website, if they have one.

What is particularly attractive about Blogs, is that the entire process of Blogging is very simple to do, mainly due to the great quality of Blog software available that you can install on your website.

Decent Blogging software provides all the functionality you need, the management of posts by yourself (and others), the categorization of posts (something that is essential) and even the process of telling other blogging websites every time you make a new post automatically.

Automatically telling other sites about your posts is a huge plus since it’s getting known on the Internet, without the need for you to be having to manually “submit” your blog in order for people to find out about it.

Now in my opinion, one of the most important things to ensure is that you don’t just use the Blog as a sales page (I recommend you leave the selling of your products and services to your actual sales page on your website).

Obviously you will want to talk about your products and services, and the benefits visitors will get in using them, but I believe it’s important not to have an all out sales pitch, as that will tend to turn off visitors who may be seeing your message for the first time. I also recommend you talk about non-business stuff, information about you, the person, some of your interests, things you have found of interest or help on the Internet, etc.

When considering finding out more about traffic to your website; it pays to visit professionals to help you achieve the best and most rapid results.

When people read these personal posts, they get to know the real you, and form a relationship with a “real person” and not a nameless website, and this can only assist you in future sales with these people.

A Blog also allows (and in fact encourages) participation by visitors, who can post responses to your entries, and this is often a great way to stimulate interesting conversations. Good Blogging software will allow you to remove spam responses (where visitors or programs “write” messages directing people to their site) as well as to moderate conversations that are in appropriate or off-topic.One of the best reasons to use Blogs is to help you rank highly in the search engines. The search engines love Blogs, provided they are providing relevant and quality content.

To give you an idea of how important search engines see Blogs, Google bought one of the largest Blogging sites out there (blogger.com). Having a focused relevant site with interesting and useful content can only help you in your journey to find true search engine love.

If you have read any of the other articles on this website, you’ve probably gathered that I preach relevant useful content. Blogs are no different than other web traffic techniques, you need to ensure it’s relevant, and ensure your separate your posts into logical categories.

For example if you have a website about software development, you may make posts discussing programming generally, other posts about training for software developers, and more posts about a specific computer language like Java.

It’s really important that you don’t just lump all posts together for a few reasons. Firstly, people coming to your Blog may have a specific interest in some of your posts (training for example) and may find it hard and frustrating to easily find all posts you have written on training if you have not clearly defined categories (and allowed posts to be searched/sorted by these categories).

Likewise the search engines may decide your Blog as less relevant if you lump all your posts together than another Blog elsewhere that has posts clearly defined in categories. Search engines very much prefer categorization of information and reward websites that categorize correctly with high search engine rankings.

The most popular open source blogging package is wordpress. Check that out online.

Wordpress is a free blogging package (yes nothing to pay!), and is extremely flexible and easy to use without sacrificing anything in power or flexibility. I use this package and recommend you do as well.

Because of its popularity many Web host’s have it available for installation on their websites for you with “one-click” installs.
