For many bloggers, they fail to realize how important search engine traffic can be because they have no clue as to how to go about optimizing their blogs. Failing to bring in targeted traffic is one reason many bloggers stop trying to make money online and go off doing something else.

Optimizing your blog post is very simple. Your blog post could be SEO friendly in just three simple steps. By following these easy steps, you can increase browsers to your site which can be the difference between a blog that makes its owner very little income or one that a blogger can quit their day job and make a full time living with.

Here are a few simple tips to SEO optimize every post you upload and start reaping the rewards of free traffic from search engines.

To start with, you should make certain your article addresses are SEO friendly. With many free blog services like BlogSpot, this is automatically done for you. If you’re a WordPress user, then you’ll need to set your permalinks so that WordPress will produce search engine optimized url’s when you create a post.

The way you get this done in WordPress is find the the Permalinks tab, and click the radio button along side the Custom field. Then you’ll put a percentage sign followed by the words Postname. {Immediately after the words postname, Now} put another percent symbol. Now all your blog post will have SEO optimized addresses.

Next, your main keyword should be in the Title of the blog. If you’re blogging about ways to earn extra cash, then you’ll want these keywords in your Blog’s title. If your blog is about Dogs, then don’t use something unrelated like your name in the title unless you also have the word Dog in there also. Using the keywords in the Title, then you’ll rank higher than if you name it Johns Blog.

Your next move is to put your keywords in your Post’s title. If you’re trying to get blog readers to come to your post about ebay to to make a living online, then your post title should have those keywords in it. Forget about using non relevant titles like How I Make Money With Auctions. Doing this prevents the search engine bots from figuring out what your post is about and you won’t attract the right kind of traffic. If you’re using Adsense to monetize your blog, this is a very important tip to get targeted traffic for high paying keywords.

These three tips will go a long ways in helping the Search Engines know what your post and blog are about. By taking a little extra time and making it easy for them to determine what your post is about, they’ll rank your post higher in their listings.

Now to fully take advantage of all this optimizing, you’ll need to build links to each post. But I’ll have to save that for another post. Learn how to optimize your blog and blog post first before taking on link building.
